Icy conditions clear out in time for the Trail of Lights

After the rare wintry treat of accumulating snowfall for many Central Texans, conditions are warming up rapidly into the weekend. Highs between Friday and Saturday will jump 10 degrees. A warm westerly wind is bringing temperatures back up and high pressure is pushing away our dreary work week conditions.

Conditions will be ideal for the Trail of Lights Grand Opening Saturday night. Kick-off temperatures will likely be in the upper 50s after seeing maximum high temps Saturday afternoon in the low 60s. We’ll continue to cool down under clear skies, with the latest trail-goers exiting Zilker with temperatures in the upper 40s around 10 p.m.

Keep in mind that temperatures in the 50s always feel colder after the sun goes down. Bundle up, get some hot chocolate, sing carols and enjoy the Trail of Lights!
