WILLIAMSON COUNTY, Texas (KXAN) — One man is dead after he crashed his truck into a ditch just north of the town of Thrall, in eastern Williamson County, Tuesday afternoon.

Sheriff Robert Chody tweeted at 12:15 p.m. his deputies were at the scene of the crash on County Road 424, which intersects with State Highway 79. Sheriff Chody said the crash happened about a mile north of SH 79.

The Texas Department of Public Safety says it appears the driver, identified as Mahlon Ator, 47, of Hare, lost control and drove into the ditch but they’re still trying to determine what time the crash happened. It is possibly the crash might have occurred Monday night into Tuesday morning but authorities didn’t discover it until mid-day Tuesday.
