23-year-old motorcyclist killed in downtown crash identified by police

AUSTIN (KXAN) — The 23-year-old man killed in a motorcycle crash in downtown Austin on Sunday, Dec. 5 has been identified by the Austin Police Department.

Deion Lee Odom was riding a 2017 Harley Davidson motorcycle west on West Cesar Chavez Street around 12:45 a.m.

Police say he lost control near Walter Seaholm Drive, went off the road and hit several objects.

Odom was pronounced dead at the scene. The case is still under investigation by APD.

The incident was Austin’s 68th fatal traffic crash and the 73rd fatality of 2017. At this time in 2016, there were 71 fatal traffic crashes and 73 traffic fatalities, police said.
