AUSTIN (KXAN) — Foodies rejoice — downtown Austin is getting its very first food hall in 2018.

Fareground will be located at an urban plaza at 111 Congress Ave., a space that will house local restaurants and vendors as well as two bars, one of which will open later in the spring. ELM Restaurant Group manages the site, which is set to have its grand opening Jan. 18.

“It’s so exciting to be a part of a global dining movement and have the opportunity to showcase some of Austin’s best-loved chefs & restaurateurs,” wrote Bob Gillett, one of ELM’s founders. “I’m blown away by the passion, vision and camaraderie that went into this project.”

Six operators will sell their treats in the space:

  • Antonelli’s Cheese Shop
  • Contigo
  • Dai Due Taquería
  • Easy Tiger
  • Henbit
  • Ni-Komé

Fareground will be open 7 a.m. to 10 p.m. Monday through Friday and 9 a.m. to 10 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday.
