RIO DE JANEIRO (KXAN) — Recent University of Texas at Austin graduate, Ryan Crouser, is hoping for gold in shot put Thursday night.

He advanced to the finals after getting first place in the qualifying round with 21.59m.

His record breaking throw that grabbed the Gold medal was 73.10 and 3/4.
