The following area is affected:

  • Milam

Including the cities of Killeen, Temple, Fort Hood, Buffalo,
Centerville, Jewett, Normangee, Oakwood, Cameron, Rockdale,
Hearne, Franklin, and Calvert

The National Weather Service in Fort Worth has expanded the

* Flood Watch to include portions of north central Texas,
northeast Texas, and south central Texas, including the
following areas, in north central Texas, Bell. In northeast
Texas, Leon. In south central Texas, Milam and Robertson.

* Through this evening

* Rainfall totals of 2 to 4 inches with localized amounts of 6

* Flooding will be possible in low lying areas, creeks, rivers
and any other flood-prone areas.


A Flood Watch means that conditions are favorable for heavy rain
which may lead to flooding of low lying areas. You should monitor
the latest forecasts from the National Weather Service and be
prepared to take action should Flood Warnings be issued for your

The National Weather Service in Fort Worth has issued a

* Flood Advisory for...
Southeastern Hamilton County in central Texas...
Coryell County in central Texas...
Lampasas County in central Texas...
Bosque County in central Texas...

* Until 530 AM CST.

* At 229 AM CST, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain that will cause
urban and small stream flooding. Areas that are low lying or
usually experience poor drainage are most likely to experience
flooding in the advisory area. Up to one inch of rain has already

* Some locations that will experience flooding include...
Copperas Cove, Gatesville, Lampasas, Clifton, Hamilton, Fort Hood,
Meridian, Valley Mills, Kempner, Evant, Cranfills Gap, Meridian
State Park, Fort Gates, Morgan and South Mountain.

Additional rainfall of one to two inches is expected over the area.
This additional rain will cause minor flooding.


Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.

Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the
dangers of flooding.
