First Warning: Heavy rain, cooler temperatures next week

A very preliminary look at potential rain totals by end of next week (European model)

Austin is on track for its driest September in history, with 0.00″ rain during the first three weeks of the month… but we are confident we will not end the month as we have started it.

We are watching several meteorological elements that may combine mid/late next week to bring heavy rain and cooler weather locally:

  • Upper-level low pressure system
  • Stalled cold front
  • Deep, tropical moisture from developing system in East Pacific

Though it is far too soon for certainty, these three elements can lead to flash flooding in Central Texas.
