“Severe” drought returns to Central Texas soil

Austin’s temperature has reached or exceeded 100º on 20 of the last 25 days. This, combined with the lack of widespread, soaking rain, is leading to worsening drought conditions across the area.

  • “Severe” drought conditions have returned near Wimberley and also Cedar Creek / Bastrop


  • 1.26% of Texas is under “severe” drought, up from 0% three months ago


  •  8.99% of Texas is under soil drought, up from 1.34% three months ago
