Potential development in the tropics next week

European forecast model showing potential tropical activity in the Gulf next Wednesday.

Predicting a process as sensitive and finicky as tropical cyclone formation more than a week in the future should be done with caution.

With that said, several reliable computer forecast models are starting to consistently hint at development somewhere in the Gulf next week. It is much too soon for any confidence in the placement or intensity of the potential system.

Consider this a first warning, and stay with KXAN as we monitor the situation.
