Join us for Kaxan’s rescue day party Thursday evening!

It was five years ago a cute, but dirty and hot stray dog wandered up the alley behind our KXAN studio. He looked thirsty, so one of our photojournalists brought him inside for some water. Someone suggested we keep him, and after a night in the Austin Animal Shelter (where he had prior experience), he became our official station mascot. Since that time, he has worked tirelessly to support animal rescue and welfare, while at the same time becoming a trained Therapy Dog with Divine Canines. In that role, he visits schools, hospitals, even soldiers at Ft. Hood.

We’re very proud of Kaxan and invite you to come celebrate with him, while at the same time supporting Divine Canines! Details are below, along with some photos of his therapy dog friends!
