Do you know where to go and what to do when severe weather threatens your location? Knowing your “safe place” when extreme weather threatens is the #1 preparedness action that anyone can take! To encourage everyone to have a safe place in your home or office, the National Weather Service is promoting the #SafePlaceSelfie campaign! Sometime during the week of April 3-6, get to your Safe-Place, then, take a selfie! share it using #SafePlaceSelfie, and encourage friends, family, and other accounts that you follow by tagging them and asking “Where is your safe place?” The best, and most creative, selfies may even be shared from the @NWS account!

At home, at work, out around town, you should always know where to go when severe weather strikes. Wherever you are, take a selfie in your safe-place, and be a part of building a Weather-Ready Nation! provides commenting to allow for constructive discussion on the stories we cover.
