Friday rain and thunderstorm timeline

Showers could form early Friday in Austin, with a line of showers moving through the Hill Country by 8 AM

An upper level storm system is expected to bring showers and scattered thunderstorms to Central Texas, beginning Friday morning. While widespread severe weather is not anticipated, there is a slight risk of a few severe storms from the Austin area east to Milam, Lee, and Fayette counties. The precipitation timeline is below.

By noon, a linear complex of showers and scattered thunderstorms may spread across the Austin metro counties
Showers and storms will by moving through counties east of IH-35 by 3 PM, with sunshine across the Hill Country and Austin metro area

 

Computer model forecasts indicate all precipitation will end across the KXAN viewing area by around 6 PM
