Drought returns to Central Texas soil

For the first time since August 16, drought conditions are returning to parts of Central Texas soil. The bright yellow color becoming more widespread on this week’s U.S. Drought Monitor update is just a precursor to drought — but a sliver of southern Fayette County, east of Austin, is officially back in drought.
