SAN ANTONIO, Texas (KXAN/WOAI) — A man who was caught on camera stealing Christmas decorations from a homeowner’s yard in San Antonio is being put on notice … in the form of Christmas decorations.

Ken Lamkin, who lives on the city’s southwest side, said on early Christmas Eve, his surveillance video captured someone stealing approximately $400 worth of decorations from his lawn.

“It reminded me of the movie ‘The Grinch,’ when the Grinch was going through town taking everybody’s presents and decorations,” Lamkin told WOAI. “We’re not going to let some Grinch steal our Christmas from us.”

Lamkin decided to print out the burglary suspect’s face and put them up on poster board. His front yard is now adorned with the suspect’s photos  and the theme: “The Christmas Thief.” To accompany the decorations, Lamkin has the “Grinch” song playing on repeat, while a projector screen shows the surveillance video.

“Hopefully something will happen, and it will touch his heart, and he will change,” said Lamkin. “Maybe he’ll return all of the things he has stolen, just like the Grinch did.” provides commenting to allow for constructive discussion on the stories we cover.
