AUSTIN (KXAN) — Lake Travis (13-2) is back in the State Championship game. The Cavaliers will play for their second straight title and 7th overall when they meet Allen (15-0) on Saturday afternoon, 3 p.m. at Arlington’s AT&T Stadium in the 6A Division 1 Championship game.

The Cavaliers beat The Woodlands in the 2016 Championship game led by quarterback Charlie Brewer, now the starter at Baylor.

Now it’s senior Matthew Baldwin leading the Lake Travis offense, he has passed for 3,842 yards and 44 touchdowns. The first year starter will sign with Ohio State on Wednesday.

Baldwin’s favorite target is junior receiver Garrett Wilson who has 90 catches for 1,675 yards and 26 touchdowns. In Saturday’s state semifinal win over Katy, Wilson caught, ran and threw for a touchdown. Allen is back in the title game for the first time since 2015 when they won their third of three straight state titles.

On Thursday at 3 p.m., Rockdale (13-2) will play for the 3A Division 1 State Championship against Brock (14-2). The Tigers will play in the championship game for the first time since 1976.

Rockdale is led by senior Jacquaylin Crawford who is committed to Oklahoma. Crawford has more than 1300 combined rushing and receiving yards with 21 touchdowns and is also an outstanding defensive back.

Rockdale quarterback Torry Locklin was named 2nd team All State on Monday. Locklin has passed for 2,334 yards and 26 touchdowns to go with 2,178 rushing yards and 27 touchdowns on the ground. Locklin’s dad Kerry was the quarterback for that 1976 team that won the state title, but he was not able to play in the championship game because of an injury. provides commenting to allow for constructive discussion on the stories we cover.
