KBVO broadcasting 3 local high school football playoff games

AUSTIN (KXAN) — High school football is heading into playoffs and KBVO is there for the biggest games. KBVO, your local sports station and KXAN affiliate, continues its on-air broadcast of high school football with a full day of live playoff showdowns. On Saturday, Dec. 9, KBVO will produce and air ‘Football Day in Central Texas’ and broadcast three Central Texas teams as they battle for a state championship.

The production will begin with the 5A Division 2 Quarter Final game between the McCallum Knights and the Calallen Wildcats at noon. At 4 p.m. the broadcast continues with a 6A Division 1 showdown as the Lake Travis Cavaliers face off against the O’Connor Panthers. The live matchups will conclude with a 6A Division 2 match between the Westlake Chaparrals against the Cibolo Steele Knights at 8 p.m.

KXAN Sports Director Roger Wallace will provide play-by-play and analysis for the 12 p.m. and 4 p.m. games alongside Steve Gideon and Keith Moreland. Analysis for the Westlake vs Cibolo game will be provided by Joe Taylor, John Neidel and Abe Garcia.

Game Schedule:

  • McCallum Knights vs Calallen Wildcats (5A Division II Region 4) – 12 p.m.
  • Lake Travis Cavaliers vs O’Connor Panthers (6A Division I Region 4) – 4 p.m.
  • Westlake Chaparrals vs Cibolo Steele (6A Division II Region 4) – 8 p..m
