FERNDALE, Mich. (KXAN) — Authorities in Michigan have released dash camera video of an officer driving the wrong way on a highway last month in his personal vehicle.
WDIV reports Roseville Police Officer David Raymer, 40, was suspected of drunk driving around 12:30 a.m. on Nov. 9 in the city of Ferndale, but was never administered a breathalyzer test. Video shows an officer pulling up to a Cadillac that is in the far left lane of the highway in Ferndale, Mich. Police said his passenger was also suspected of being intoxicated.
The Ferndale Police Department said a supervisor was notified and the off-duty officer and his passenger were brought to the police department and was later driven home. Raymer was not arrested at the time. He currently faces a reckless driving charge, which is a misdemeanor.
The Roseville police chief says they are taking the situation very seriously and are conducting an internal investigation.
