AUSTIN (KXAN) — If you’re looking for a creative gift this holiday season, give the gift of Texas history.

Commissioner George P. Bush is encouraging Texans to share the lone star state’s history from the General Land Office Archives. The office is selling unique map reproductions that might make the perfect gift for the Texas history buff in your life.

Purchases of these maps is not just a gift for the recipient, but also helps the Save Texas History program conserve crucial documents for future generations, and educate Texans about the rich heritage found in these records.

KXAN’s Gigi Barnett sat down with James Harkins with the General Land Office to talk more about the maps.
