For this mission, the organization partnered with H-E-B to deliver the meals which include turkey, mashed potatoes, vegetables, dinner roll and milk.
Much of the work was done by volunteers like Gail Bell who simply saw a need and wanted to help.
“I saw something on Facebook about needing volunteers and I thought ‘that’s easy enough. I can do that,'” Bell said.
The group prepared 105 pounds of turkey, 125 pounds of cornbread dressing, 96 pounds of peas and carrots, 500 dinner rolls and 38 pounds of spiced pumpkin cake.
This year they were able to serve 486 people.
