Man found shot to death inside car in east Austin

AUSTIN (KXAN)– Austin police are investigating after a man in his 30s was found dead from a gunshot in east Austin.

Police say they received a call around 10:30 a.m. about a crash on Greenwood Avenue where a tan vehicle left the scene. Police responded to the crash and were searching for that vehicle when they located it nearby at the intersection of East Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard and EM Franklin Avenue.

Inside the vehicle officers found a man dead with a gunshot wound. Police believe the man’s injuries were self-inflicted and his death is not being considered suspicious at this time.
