DRIPPING SPRINGS, Texas (KXAN) — Deputies are searching for a man they believe shot a 26-year-old after a fight in Dripping Springs, Wednesday.
A 911 call reporting something suspicious brought officers to the 28000 block of Ranch Road 12, not far from Dripping Springs Elementary School, and just north of the US 290 and RR 12 intersection around 4:23 p.m.
Arriving deputies found a 26-year-old man with a gunshot wound. He was conscious and breathing as medics took him to an Austin-area hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
Deputies learned an argument started between the victim and the suspect, Grosbin A. Sabillon, 30. Sabillon was not at the scene when deputies pulled up.
He is described by the Hays County Sheriff’s Office as having black hair and brown eyes, medium skin tone and no visible tattoos. Sabillon drove away with a handgun in a 2006 red Dodge 4-door pickup truck with tinted windows. A license plate number is not available.
A warrant for aggravated assault with a deadly weapon has been issued for Sabillon. He is considered armed and dangerous.
Anyone with information on the suspect is asked to call Hays County Crime Stoppers at 1-800-324-TIPS (8477).
Dale Whitaker with Dripping Springs ISD says, as a precaution, they brought Dripping Springs Elementary students inside from the playground for about 15 minutes. School was not in session at the time of the incident; the students were part of an after-school extended care program.
