Additional help called in to put out large grass fire north of Bastrop

BASTROP, Texas (KXAN) — Crews responded to a large grass fire north of Bastrop, Tuesday afternoon.

Additional help had been requested fighting the fire, located near the intersection of Old Sayers Road and Phelan Road, just west of State Highway 95.

At around 5:20 p.m., the Bastrop County Office of Emergency Management says the fire was contained and crews were finishing work at the scene.
