Man seriously burned in Travis County trailer fire

AUSTIN (KXAN) — A Travis County man is in the hospital after suffering serious burns during an early morning fire Friday.

The fire broke out around 1:29 a.m. in a trailer on San Antonio Street, near Lake Travis. The Travis County Fire Chief, Robert Abbott, told KXAN he expects to know what started the fire later Friday afternoon.

The flames were extinguished by 1:40 a.m. The man, estimated to be in his 30s, was waiting outside the trailer when firefighters arrived.

the man was originally taken to St. David’s Round Rock Medical Center for treatment but he was later transferred to the San Antonio Military Medical Center for burn treatment.
