SARITA, Texas (KXAN — A immigration checkpoint discovered 66 pounds of methamphetamines on U.S. Highway 77 in Sarita, Texas.

A canine alerted the Border Patrol agents at the Kingsville Station. Inside the vehicle, three large bags of liquid meth were found in a hidden compartment in the gas tank.

Worth over $2.1 million, a hazardous materials team was called to handle the narcotics.

The driver is described as a U.S. citizen. He was arrested and handed over to the Drug Enforcement Administration.
