Man hit by car in East Austin dies from his injuries

AUSTIN (KXAN) — A man in his 60s hit by a car in East Austin Tuesday evening has died from his injuries.

Austin-Travis County EMS says the crash happened near the Manor Road and Anchor Lane intersection at around 5:52 p.m. The injured man was taken to University Medical Center Brackenridge in critical condition where he died at 6:19 p.m. The intersection will be closed until at least 9 p.m., police say.

Tuesday afternoon, a man crossing Interstate 35 at Oltorf Street was hit and killed by a truck. The incident marked the fourth deadly crash involving pedestrians on Interstate 35 in November and the ninth this year.
