SAN ANTONIO, Texas (KXAN) — If the IKEA in Round Rock is too far of a haul for you, the company is hoping its new San Antonio-area store will be more appealing.

The company announced Tuesday its submitting plans to the City of Live Oak for a store that would increase the company’s presence in Texas to five stores. Live Oak is a suburb just northeast of San Antonio; the same northeast corridor is also home to one of Amazon’s fulfillment centers.

IKEA hopes to start construction on the new store in spring 2018, with an opening in summer 2019. The company says the store will be 289,000-square-feet and located at the southwestern corner of Interstate 35 and Loop 1604.

For people who live in San Antonio, the closest IKEA is the one in Round Rock, which opened in 2006.
