AUSTIN (KXAN) — Vendors opened up shop for the 16th annual Blue Genie Art Bazaar at a new location this year.

Local artists and craftsmen opened their booths at the art show Friday. More than 200 exhibitors have set up shop for the next four weeks, with thousands of art pieces and handmade gifts for sale.

The art show was founded in 2001 by the principals of Blue genie Art Industries. In that first year, it was a  small event with about 15 vendors.

BGAB is located at 6100 Airport Boulevard, across from ACC Highland Campus. It will be open from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. through Dec. 23 and close its doors early at 6 p.m. on Christmas Eve. Parking and admission are free.
