KYLE, Texas (KXAN) — A man in Kyle died Wednesday night after his car rolled over multiple times on Beebee Road, near Fountain Grove.

Kyle Police said Michael Alan Rentz, 21, died just before midnight when he lost control of his car, which slid up a guardrail and then rolled over.

While investigating the crash, officers learned that Rentz was involved in a separate car accident on the I-35 frontage road, where he hit an SUV, before the deadly crash. Police say the driver of the SUV followed Rentz while he was fleeing the scene and witnessed the car rollover.

Autopsy results for Rentz are pending while investigators work to determine what caused the crash. Witnesses told police at the scene that his car was travelling at a high rate of speed.

Kyle Police Chief Jeff Barnett says no criminal charges will be filed.
