Toyota recalling more than 700,000 minivans for dangerous door issue

U.S. (KXAN) — One of Toyota’s most popular minivans has been recalled.

The company is recalling 744,000 Sienna minivans. The sliding doors can open while the van is moving posing a serious risk for injury to passengers.

The recall involves Sienna minivans from the 2011 to 2016 model years. The motor for the sliding door can be overloaded causing the fuse to open.

Toyota says they will repair the doors for free. The drivers will be notified by mail in January.
