ROUND ROCK, Texas (KXAN) — A man accused of shooting at his sister and nieces in Round Rock last week has been charged with aggravated assault with a weapon.

On Thursday, Nov. 17, Round Rock police were called to the 1100 block of McNeil Road, near Deep Wood Drive, at 7:20 p.m. A man called 911 to report his son having fired shots at his daughter and her children.

The woman told officers that her brother, Eligio Gonzales, 34, uses meth and is homeless. She said the incident started after a brief argument. Gonzales allegedly pointed a gun at his sister and then pointed it at his head, threatening to kill himself.

When the woman tried to leave the house with her two daughters, she backed into Gonzales’ car. He then came out of the house, angry that she hit his car. Gonzales then fired his pistol towards the woman and her daughters. No one was harmed in the incident.

The woman told police Gonzales was possibly barricaded inside a home on McNeil. After a four-hour long standoff, police found the house to be empty. Gonzales was arrested Friday. He remains in the Williamson County Jail.

Gonzales has been booked into the jail on eight other occasions since 2010, on charges including driving while intoxicated, public intoxication and driving with an invalid license.
