DEL VALLE, Texas (KXAN) — A teenager is facing a felony charge after he was accused of attacking a disabled student at Del Valle High School on Nov. 15.

Travis County deputies took 18-year-old Salvador Galvan, Jr. into custody on a $500 bond. A school resource officer saw the incident captured on video. The officer says Galvan put the victim in a headlock causing large red marks on the side of his neck.

According to the affidavit, the video shows Galvan sprinting towards the student and blocking his path in the hallway. As the victim tried to walk around him, Galvan put him in a five to six second headlock from behind, states the affidavit. The student was able to escape and run away.

The victim has been diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder.

If convicted, Galvan could face up to ten years in prison.
