AUSTIN (KXAN) — This Saturday, you have at a chance at fame and fortune as America’s Got Talent comes to Austin for auditions.

Adam Davis, digital producer for America’s Got Talent, joined us in the KXAN studio to talk about the hit NBC show.

“It is not just a singing competition show, we have dancers, contortionists, I mean last season we had a guy stick a meat hook up his nose and down his throat, through his mouth and swing it around on a ribbon,” said Davis. “It’s that kind of stuff we are looking for, stuff America has never seen.”

One of the hosts of the show, Simon Cowell, has some tips for people trying out for the show.

  • Be original
  • Don’t be boring
  • Stand out from the crowd
  • Be fearless

The auditions are Saturday at the Austin Convention Center. Any age, and any talent is welcome for the one-day of auditions.

“Bring your winning attitude, bring whatever it is that is going to get you in front of the celebrity judges,” said Davis. “If we like you we will fly you out to LA and we will put you in front of Simon, Heidi, Howie and Mel B.”
