AUSTIN (KXAN) — People living near Terrilance Drive and Burleson Road in southeast Austin can go back home Tuesday morning after crews with Texas Gas Service shut off gas in a leaking pipe.

The utility says no customers lost gas service during the leak because crews brought in a Compressed Natural Gas truck to feed gas directly to customers.

Texas Gas Service say a contractor put a hole in a pipe while doing work in the area around 5 p.m. on Monday. Crews will be working to fix the pipe early Tuesday morning and the intersection of Terrilance and Burleson will stay closed until they do.

It is estimated that the roads will be open “later this morning,” according to the Texas Gas Service.

KXAN will update this story when the gas leak is fixed.
