1st annual Vet Fest brings together Austin area Veterans

AUSTIN (KXAN)– The 1st annual Vet Fest invites the Austin area Veteran community for a day of BBQ, education and togetherness Saturday afternoon.

Vet Fest is bringing together 50 Veteran non-profits, service organizations and Veteran-owned businesses for area Veterans. The fest will serve to educate area Veterans on the services that are readily available to them in the Austin area.

The fest also hopes to help engagement within the veteran community and facilitate networking and collaboration between the participating organizations in order to work together to better serve Veterans.

The event is from noon to 5 p.m. and open to the public. There will be BBQ by Come and Take It BBQ Team, cold beverages in the VFW Canteen, a raffle and door prizes. Vet Fest is being hosted by VFW Post 8787 and Veteran organizations and businesses of the Austin area.

Vet Fest will be at VFW Post 8787 at 500 VFW Road, Austin, TX 78753.
