Man found dead in Northeast Austin had been shot, dumped

AUSTIN (KXAN) – A man who had been dumped on the side of a Northeast Austin road had been shot multiple times, Austin police said Thursday.

Authorities found the unconscious body of Kenneth Johnson, 19, Sunday before 9 p.m. in the 7400 block of Geneva Drive. Attempts to revive him were unsuccessful.

Investigators found Johnson had been shot several times and determined he had been left at the location. A Medical Examiner’s autopsy determined Johnson was murdered.

Police believe Johnson was in the Manor Road area before his death.

This was the 30th homicide in Austin this year.
