Kilo of cocaine found in car by Fayette County deputies

FAYETTE COUNTY, Texas (KXAN) — Two people have been arrested after a traffic stop near Schulenburg revealed a kilogram of cocaine.

Two deputies were patrolling Interstate 10 when they stopped a car for a traffic violation on Nov. 7. According to the Sheriff’s Office, the couple in the car was acting nervously and one of them had “marijuana residue” visible on their clothes.

After consenting to a vehicle search, several secret compartments were found in the couple’s car in addition to a large bag of marijuana. Hidden in one of the compartments was a kilogram of cocaine.

Africo Feliz, 36, and Lindsay Barker, 23, were both arrested and charged with possession of a controlled substance. The pair also face charges for a pending investigation into $1,800 in cash, which officers believe might be forfeited. provides commenting to allow for constructive discussion on the stories we cover.
