AUSTIN (KXAN) — A man in his 30’s was pronounced dead this morning after a crash on Highway 71 around 3:15 a.m.

It was foggy at the time of the crash. The eastbound lanes of 71 are closed at this time.

  1. WEATHER: Foggy start to the week with rain chances: You might want to turn on those low beams during your morning commute with a layer of fog forecast to blanket the roads. Also don’t forget your umbrella, a few light rain showers could sprinkle their way across Austin by the lunch hour.
  2. NATIONAL: Former AG Janet Reno dies: The first woman to serve as a U.S. attorney general had died at the age of 78. Reno famously told reporters “I don’t do spin.” She served nearly eight years as attorney general under President Bill Clinton, the longest stint in a century.
  3. CRIME WATCH: Man found dead on Sunday: Police are looking for more information about a man who was found dead in Northeast Austin yesterday. His death is being investigated by the homicide unit. Anyone with information about the man’s death is asked to call APD.
