Crash kills man on bicycle in Southwest Austin

AUSTIN (KXAN) — A man on a bicycle was struck and killed by a vehicle in Southwest Austin Saturday morning, according to Austin-Travis County EMS. He was identified Monday as Joseph Patrick Daniels, 34.

Austin Police say the crash happened around 7:20 a.m. on the eastbound service road in the 5200 block of West U.S. 290 near William Cannon.

Police say the driver who hit the bicyclist remained at the scene following the crash.
