SEMINOLE COUNTY, Florida (NBC News) – Sheriff’s deputies in Florida were training on a driving track Wednesday when they noticed a single engine airplane flying low.
Instructors with the sheriff’s office heard the plane’s engine begin to sputter and noticed the plane descending rapidly.
They quickly ordered everyone off the driving track to clear for a possible emergency landing.
The sheriff’s Alert One flight crew captured the video as the plane landed and then skidded into a chain-link fence near parked cars and the training facility building.
The plane sustained significant damage, but no one was injured – including the pilot who walked away without a scratch.
The Federal Aviation Administration is investigating the incident.
