DIY Thanksgiving Centerpiece

All eyes are on the center of the table at Thanksgiving so you want to give everyone something beautiful to look at. Sofia Avila is co-founder and executive director of Mandarin Design Lab. She dropped by Studio 512 to show us how to put a super unique centerpiece together. First we took a FloraCraft ball, and soaked it in water. It’s important not to push it down into the water, it’ll sink on it’s own while soaking up the water. Take it out of the water and cut a sliver of it off. You’ll want it to sit flat in the arrangement. We made our floral arrangement look like pumpkins, so save those stems from Halloween!

  • Use a stick to poke through the ball into the stem
  • cut the flowers with a little bit of stem left
  • poke through the ball
  • pin it to hold in place
