WILLIAMSON COUNTY, Texas (KXAN) — The suspect in a bank robbery in Granger last week is in custody.

On Friday, Oct. 28, at around 10:05 a.m., Donald Lee Woods, 45, walked into the Citizen’s National Bank of Coupland wearing a mask made from a T-shirt, Williamson County deputies say.

After standing in the bank lobby for a few seconds, he ran from the bank. Police were called and a lookout notice was broadcast to all law enforcement agencies in the area.

Minutes later, Woods was arrested on Main Street in Taylor, while driving a tan 2001 Ford F-150, which matched the description of the vehicle used in the Granger National Bank Robbery on Monday, Oct. 24. Handing a sack to the teller, he demanded money, but never showed a weapon.

Officers arrived and took Woods to the sheriff’s office where a search revealed two marked bills stolen from the Granger bank. A search of his truck uncovered the T-shirt mask and a 9MM semi-automatic pistol.

Woods has been charged with the Granger bank robbery, a second degree felony, and is in the Williamson County Jail in lieu of a $500,000 bond. Woods has previous charges in Williamson County for unauthorized use of a vehicle, driving while intoxicated, aggravated assault, criminal mischief and property theft. provides commenting to allow for constructive discussion on the stories we cover.
