Fight in South Austin turns into deadly shooting

AUSTIN (KXAN) — One person is dead and another is wounded after a shooting in South Austin early Sunday morning.

It happened just before 1 a.m. on Windrift Way and Armadillo Road.

Police responded to a call of shots fired. When they got on the scene, they determined that a fight had broken out between a group of people, leading to the shooting.

According to Austin-Travis County EMS, a man in his 20s died at the scene. A second man was taken to St. David’s South Austin Medical Center with non life-threatening injuries.
