VIDEO: Plane bursts into flames at Chicago’s O’Hare

CHICAGO, Illinois (NBC News) Eight people suffered injuries Friday when an American Airlines plane burst into flames after an aborted takeoff at Chicago’s O’Hare International Airport.

The Federal Aviation Administration says American Airlines Flight 383 was preparing to take off for miami when it became engulfed in flames and smoke.

The pilots aborted the takeoff and passengers deplaned via an inflatable emergency chute.

American Airlines officials say the plane experienced an engine malfunction.

Seven passengers and one flight attendant were transported to the hospital with minor injuries.
