AUSTIN (KXAN) — A man has died in an overnight crash on Koenig Lane in Central Austin.

The driver hit a garbage truck killing him at the scene around 3:19 a.m. LIVE look from the scene with updates from police, on KXAN TV.

  1. Texas businesses uniting against anti-LGBTQ legislation: “Basically we’re saying, any legislation that discriminates or creates an air of discrimination, is simply bad for business and it’s not what we’re about,” Steve Basile, managing partner of the Irish pub says. In Texas, more than 200 small businesses have written an open letter to state lawmakers saying they will not tolerate any kind of legislation that would mirror North Carolina’s controversial bathroom bill.
  2. Not enough CPS to keep kids safe: The head of CPS is saying they do not have enough caseworkers to protect Texas children. Lawmakers are now scrambling to find money to fix this crisis. Last year 171 children died of neglect and abuse.
  3. PHOTOS: 24 charges with dealing K2 downtown: In Austin, there has been a drastic increase in people becoming violently ill after taking K2, synthetic marijuana.
