AUSTIN (KXAN) — A fire is now out, but crews are still working to learn the cause of what ignited the flames near the HEB at Riverside and Pleasant Valley Road around 3 a.m. Tuesday morning.

The fire was at a vacant building. It took firefighters one hour to control the flames.

The building was a Champions Sporting store, but it has been vacant for years. Crews are telling the owner the building needs to be demolished.

So far there is no word on what caused the fire because the roof burned and the walls are unstable. Firefighters say they won’t send anyone inside the building so they might never know the cause.
