AUSTIN (KXAN) — An Austin ISD bus driver was injured Tuesday afternoon after crashing into a mailbox in southwest Austin.

At around 4:15 p.m., first responders were called to the 6800 block of Fence Line Drive, near William Cannon Drive, for reports of a crash. The bus driver was taken to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

Two children were on board the bus at the time of the collision, but were uninjured. The parents came to the scene to pick up their children.

Last month, Taylor ISD decided they would reevaluate their seat belt policy after a school bus crashed with a man driving with an invalid license. No students were on board and the driver was released from the hospital hours after the crash.
