AUSTIN (KXAN) — Five Austin City Council members who were voted into office during Austin’s inaugural single-member district election in 2014 are up for reelection.
Because of the new 10-1 council setup that went into place a couple of years ago, members drew lots in 2015 to determine the length of their term in office. Five members served for two years, and the remaining council members are serving four-year terms. Steve Adler’s term as mayor lasts four years.
KXAN asked the candidates for on-camera interviews about what they want to accomplish in office. Here is an In-Depth look at which candidates are vying for your vote.
