Multi-vehicle crash involving a semi-truck shuts down East Ben White flyover

AUSTIN (KXAN) — Three people are in the hospital following a multi-vehicle crash involving a semi-truck Sunday afternoon.

The crash happened on the westbound lane of East Ben White Boulevard flyover into Interstate 35 just before 2:30 p.m.

According to Austin/Travis County EMS, 6 vehicles were involved and 15 patients were treated from the crash. Medics transported 3 adults to South Austin Medical Center with non-life threatening injuries.

Traffic is being redirected in the area as the flyovers remain closed.

The cause of the crash is unknown at this time.
