AUSTIN (KXAN) — Zilker Park is back open Friday after the city completed its fall maintenance early, two weeks after the Austin City Limits music festival came to a close.

Lou Neff Road and the volleyball courts will be closed until Saturday, so drivers are asked to park on the other side of Barton Springs Road. Park visitors can use one of two pedestrian crossings to safely access the Great Lawn.

Starting Oct. 31 up until Dec. 23, portions of the park will be closed for the Trail of Lights.

  • Oct. 22–30: All areas of the park are open.
  • Oct. 31–Nov. 16: Lou Neff Road will be closed, small portions of the park are closed. The Great Lawn remains open.
  • Nov. 17–Dec. 23: Large portions of the park are closed for the Trail of Lights. Expect higher pedestrian and vehicle traffic in the area on these nights.

For specifics on the closures sorted by date, visit the city of Austin website.
