AUSTIN (KXAN) — A man who was killed in a crash between four vehicles on US Highway 290 and MoPac on Oct. 13 has been identified as 70-year-old Michael Thomas Sullivan.

Three vehicles were stopped in traffic on the northbound ramp from 290 to South MoPac, when a Ford Expedition crashed into a Ford 500SL. A chain reaction was sparked between all four vehicles critically injuring Sullivan, who was driving the Ford 500SL that was initially hit.

Sullivan was taken to the St. David’s South Austin Medical Center where he later died. He is the 57th person to die in a fatal crash this year.

Police are still investigating the case and ask that anyone with information call the APD Vehicular Homicide Unit Detectives at (512) 974-4424.
